About the Department
To contribute to the historical, cultural, scientific, diplomatic and economic fields between the countries that speak Arabic language and our country by using the information on these languages and literatures in the classical and modern sources written in Arabic language and evaluating the knowledge of Turkish language and culture, to raise qualified individuals to be found.
Our vision is to be a pioneering and exemplary department contributing to science, culture, history, diplomacy, tourism and economy.
The program is aimed at students who have scientific and research skills at both undergraduate and graduate level. It is also within the mission of the program to give college graduates.
Education
The duration of Arabic Language and Literature training is 4 years. The program is designed to train specialists in the field to provide training that will lead to the development of leading, creative, self-confident, contemporary individuals who are bound to the country and constitutional values of the country, in line with the goals of higher education at the national level
Working places
Students who have graduated from Arabic Language and Literature program are awarded the title of Arabic Language and Literature Philology. Some of the graduates continue their academic life while some of them are in the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Industry and Trade, General Directorate of Security, TRT, Armed Forces, Information Retrieval Organization, State Archives, Foundation institutions, , embassies, consulates, visual and print media. They are also able to work as interpreters and interpreters in tourism agencies and private sector. In addition, there is also the possibility of appointing the students who take the formation as teachers in the Ministry of National Education.
