About the Department
The Department of History aims to investigate Turkish and World history in accordance with the requirements of history science. The Department of History, which has the opportunity to work with social departments such as Turkish Language, Philosophy, Geography and Eastern Languages, continues its pioneering position in providing archival and resource languages for historical researches. The department courses are mainly focused on the Turkish and Islamic world, and the courses related to the political and cultural history of the related communities are also included. In addition to theoretical lectures, some lectures are supported by auxiliary materials such as archive documents and projections.
The Ottoman language is given at a level where both archival and archival documents of various kinds can be read and understood, and the intelligibility of this course is supported by the Arabic lesson. It is aimed to educate educators for the researchers and educational institutions in the field of history with the given undergraduate education and it is aimed to train the personnel who will make important studies in the history of science in the rapidly developing world of knowledge. In line with this goal, It is also aimed at educating historians who are able to look into the problems within the scope of today, tomorrow and tomorrow, by becoming more and more scientific studies, increasing the publication potential and educating them in accordance with the conditions of today, knowing various language dictionaries, benefiting from computer technology as needed.
