About the Department
Within the Turkish Language and Literature Department of Iğdır University; There are six (6) departments: Old Turkish Language, New Turkish Language, Old Turkish Literature, New Turkish Literature, Folk Literature, Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures. The purpose of the department; To train qualified personnel to conduct research in the fields of Turkish language, literature, folklore and culture, to conduct various studies and researches, and to use them in publications, conferences, seminars, etc. ways to introduce. In the courses given according to the subjects of the departments in the department, information is given about the main literary works and people in the development line of the Turkish written language from the beginning to the present, and examples of historical and contemporary Turkish dialects written in various alphabets are introduced.

Turkish Language and Literature Department is 4 years (8 semesters).
Working places
Graduated students have the opportunity to work in various academic fields as "Turkish Language Instructor", "Research Assistant" and "Turkish Language Expert" at the universities. They are also able to find job opportunities with government agencies such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and the TRT in private organizations in the press and advertising.
