Within the Turkish Language and Literature Department of Iğdır University; There are six (6) departments: Old Turkish Language, New Turkish Language, Old Turkish Literature, New Turkish Literature, Folk Literature, Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures. The purpose of the department; To train qualified personnel to conduct research in the fields of Turkish language, literature, folklore and culture, to conduct various studies and researches, and to use them in publications, conferences, seminars, etc. ways to introduce. In the courses given according to the subjects of the departments in the department, information is given about the main literary works and people in the development line of the Turkish written language from the beginning to the present, and examples of historical and contemporary Turkish dialects written in various alphabets are introduced.
Our department started its undergraduate education activities with the student admission in the 2018-2019 academic year.
